Murphy’s Law

What is it about border line-ups and Murphy’s law?!  I’m ALWAYS in the wrong line.  Unfortunately, I don’t suffer this gracefully, and within seconds of noticing that, yes indeed, I’ve picked the wrong line yet again, my blood pressure sky-rockets, I get shifty, and unchoice words begin to pour forth.  I always find my asking aloud ”what is wrong...

True Love

Happy Monday!
Jaedah got creative yesterday by expressing her deep, true love for us… in the form of a pretzel-letter love note:

And I’ve been getting creative by working on my NYIP course.  One of the last assignments is to re-create a magazine ad or cover, so I chose to do the new what’s cooking magazine:

This is my kind of baking – easy and delicious…they...

I Apologize…

…for being “under construction” all night last night!  Thanks for checking back.  As you can see my blogsite has undergone radical changes, as I’ve finally gotten around to completely customizing my site.  Don’t worry, only the background and colours have changed (and I’ve updated a few menu items such as “About Me” and “Pricing”).  I...

You’ve Got Mail

The old-fashioned kind.  I love seeing that red flag up on our battered and rusted old mailbox…especially when the contents inside include a Child Care check, a new Kraft What’s Cooking magazine…and no bills! :)

And I adore the napes of my kids’ vulnerable, soft, sweet necks.  Kissing them is even better.

And my favorite time of day: basking...

A Wonderful Day – Part 3

I hope you had a great weekend.  I got a lot accomplished.  On Friday I drove with Laim to Langley, Coquitlam, Vancouver and Steveston to take architectural pictures for my uncle…stopping, of course, at several Home Sense stores along way, and ending up at the wharf in Steveston for a late lunch and play time...

A Wonderful Day – Part 2

So how could I deny my son these heinous, teeth-rotting, chewy-as-rubber gumballs when I’ve chewed countless myself as a child?  He had 3:

And then there was that sad, wretched-economy stricken mall that would make a great studio:

…and the alley behind the main street has some great old buildings too!  Anyone want to drive down to...

Wish Me Luck

…with 2 nests full of mini eggs on my dinning table, wish my will-power luck! :)
Aren’t those the coolest salt and pepper shakers ever?  Found them while shopping yesterday in an antique store.  Love the ingenious design and colour!!
I’m also a sucker for sunbeams shining through mist, and the sunrise this morning over the mountains...

A Wonderful Day – Part 1

I just love days like yesterday…and sadly they are far too rare.  It was such great bonding/one-on-one time that I’ve resolved that I must do this regularly, with the kids alone.  Particularly with Jaedah since she’s in school full time, and when she’s home, so is Liam…so,  in the next month or two, I’m going to...

Sunshine + Chocolate = BLISS

Liam and I had a GREAT afternoon in Lynden today….I’ve got tons of pictures to go through, and will post them asap, but in the mean time I thought I’d leave you with this deliciousness:

I found these cool nests at a florist in Lynden, and as for the Cadbury Mini Eggs – they followed me...

A Regular Day

Yup, nothin’ real thrilling going on here.  The kids are playing…and I’m perusing landscaping books for ideas, since Eric wants to get going on that around here.  All I know is I’d like tons of boxwood, euphorbia and lavender.  The exact placement of these is still a mystery.
How this place gets so dusty and the bathrooms...
