This was our 4th annual week spent at the Coast Hotel with friends.
I’m telling you: there is no better place to go with kids! The sand is clean and soft; the water is clear and so shallow (I’m bad with guestimating distances, but you can walk out for AGES and it’s still only at the kids’ waists. The boat gets tied to a buoy and it needs to be pushed in the last 100 feet – the whole lake is extremely shallow.) and warm; the rooms are 30 feet from the water (as you can see on the pic below), and accessible from the stairs; there’s bbq’s, picnic tables and hoses right at the beach; there’s an indoor pool that we take the kids to every evening after supper that has the fastest twirly/tunnel slide I’ve ever been on! I could go on…and on. There’s good reason(s) that we love coming back to this place yearly!!
It seemed that this week had a slower pace than others. More time was spent reading, chilling in the floating lounge raft that Eric bought just before coming up, cooling off in the water, napping…we didn’t get around to our girl’s night out, or our pedicures, or get much shopping done like we usually do…but it was a great week, all the same! The guys went out on the boat for a few hours at a time, and so did we girls, for a relaxing afternoon spent talking, suntanning, and swimming {forgetting about our kids for a few blissful hours – hey! we love them, but it’s terrific to get away for a while!! :)}. The kids had a wonderful time, enjoying the summer esentials that keep kids busy endless hours: sun, sand and water. It’s amazing, considering that there was 18 of them (15 adults), how well they all play together! We spent every evening, after putting our exhausted kids to bed, sitting on the beach, chatting in the candlelight long after the hotel lights went out.
I didn’t take quite as many pictures this year as others {and some that I did take, I was told that it’d be “murder-suicide” to post here on the blog, so we’ll keep it family friendly!! ;) }. Same kids/friends, same sand, same surf, same sun - there’s not too many shots that I haven’t already captured at Osoyoos in years gone by! :) Instead I just spent my time enjoying the afor-mentioned thoroughly. Here’s a few of my family doing the same:

I took the above 5 pictures by putting on 2 life-jackets and going for a swim with my camera! I figured that if my camera went into the drink…I’d just have to spring for my new one a little sooner than anticipated, but sadly, no such luck! :)

The one outing with the kids that we did do, was go to the Osoyoos Desert Model Railroad which was AMAZING! If you’re ever driving through on the 3, be sure to stop by!
