It was such a gorgeous evening…I was cleaning up supper dishes and thinking “we just can’t stay inside and play games…this sunshine is begging us to come out and frolic in it.” So, much to the kids delight, we headed over to Tulip Mania (a fundraiser for BC Cancer Foundation) on Ferry Rd in Rosedale. I’d promised the kids that we’d go Saturday afternoon, (and I still hope to) however, tonight was awesome because there was no one there but us – we had free reign of the place. The kids first painstakingly (as though their very lives depended on the decisions at hand) chose 5 tulips to each pick, and then they literally did frolic and skip in the sunshine – around and around the tulip field. Sheer peaceful, radiant bliss.

Is it any wonder that tulips are my favorite flower?!? They’re so quietly graceful and elegant. And lets face it – they’re the only cut flower that still looks terrific when drooping over! :)
