victoria – iphotographer

Last week we decided to get away for a few days and join my aunt and uncle in Victoria.

On the way to catch the 2:00pm ferry, I realized that I forgot my camera!!  Thankfully, I knew my aunt had hers with her…and I decided to just relax and have a bit of  iphone fun.  I recalled reading about the ShakeItPhoto app recently, so within minutes I had downloaded it onto Eric’s phone and was having a great time watching my “polaroids develop.”  (Note:  I don’t have an iphone – Eric’s offered several times to trade in my phone, but I know I’ll be totally addicted, and will never be able to put the phone down…just like I couldn’t last week in Victoria.)

As you can see, I was completely addicted to the color-infused quirkiness of them, and I took tons.  Sorry in advance, if they take a second or two to load. :{

Tuesday was spent soaking up the sun on the upper deck of the Coastal Celebration, followed my a dip in the pool at M & K’s resort, belinis and dinner at Milestones, and enjoying the gorgeous harbor views as dusk settled around us.

Wednesday we enjoyed the sea breeze, and sun on our faces as we cruised our rented mopeds along Beacon Hill Park and the coast for 2 hours.  Jaedah, being her usual clever self, was quick to pick going on the moped with Eric because she knew he’d be a better driver! :)  So true, as I nearly drove into a bus when I first started off.  Then we picked up lunch and headed over to the harbor where we climbed aboard the Thane – a 40+ year old wooden sailing ship – and took a 3 hour (1:00 – 4:00) hour sail out of the harbor and into the surrounding open waters.  Jade and Liam had a great time hauling up the sailes, watching jelly fish swim by, huddling under blankets and napping (Liam), and sitting on the bowsprit.  After supper of fish and chips on the warf, the kids were completely finished, and Eric and I spent the evening reading by the patio.

Thursday morning was cloudy, and a great day to head back home on the Spirit of British Columbia while enjoying breakfast, and treehouse! :)

While it was fun to join the iphenomonon for a few days, I’m still a true Nikonian at heart! :)

OK, I love all the pictures, but I’d have to say my favourite is the one with Liam and the helmet… he’s got this… LOOK… on his face, like you just squished his head in that helmet, and he can’t even get his finger under the strap to get it off! Sorry!
Looks like you guys had a great time! Seeya later.

Thanks – kinda fun to just point and shoot for a change! :) 3 years ago, when I was in Victoria with Trish, Jasey and Jade, then we did the petting zoo (not that Jaedah dared to pet a single thing!!)…but we’ve never done the bug zoo – sounds great!! Have to keep it in mind for next time – Liam loves bugs (like most typical boys, I guess!).
